We got up very early to prepare for the big day ahead and to leave the apartment in good condition. Natasha delighted herself by sweeping the entire apartment with an "indian broom." Shreya and Carl met us at the apartment to say goodbye. We made our way to Bombay airport. The plane was delayed by some 35 minutes. ( I actually found out AFTER we got home to Australia that the time had been changed by 20 minutes the day before departure ...)
Air India served lunch on the way to Raipur. I surprised the flight attendant when I told him the food was not spicy enough!
At Raipur we were met by Keith who took us to his house for some fellowship and rest before our train journey. He, wife Lucy and son Jason only moved to their house yesterday! It is set in nice surroundings with a lovely parkland with grass, small trees and flowers right opposite. After lunch Keith and Lucy went to work; Keith cut his work day short to take us to the train. They offer tutoring for high school students after school hours.
We boarded the train however initially found ourselves on the wrong carriage. Luckily we were able to walk through. We had AC2 with a whole compartment to ourselves. Domenic and his brother-in-law met us at Pendra Road station. By now it was after 11pm so we were well and truly exhausted. We are staying with Domenic's big sister Phoebe and her family. His younger sister Deena is also here from Bombay with her family as she also wanted to meet us. We were grateful for the dinner served to us.
